You may have
wondered why 1969 Gibson Les Paul Goldtops are so rare and amazing?
It's because they were never built or assembled...they are all MINED
from veins of solid white quartz here on Guitar Island just off the
coast of Beigeland, USA. Our ever scrumscious and indefatigable mine
engineer, AnnMarie, is shown extracting a mid 69 Goldtop at the 1190
foot level of the Eagle mine, and transporting the gold to the assay
station near the glory hole. The mine lizards then transport the guitar
ore to the 5 stamp mill at the surface for serialization and final
preparation. It is a long process with innumerable hazards at every
turn of the tunnel and stope chute. This is a high grade goldtop just
under 9 pounds. As all rare goldtops it has issues and inclusions. Most
notable here is the very very slight enlargement of the mini humbucker
pickup routs, a nashville harmonica bridge, and an upgrade change to
Grover tuners. It has a pair of "goof rings" included that hide the
slight enlargements, should the new caretaker desire that. No "Made in
USA", no volute, no volare...woo-oh!, pancake body and three piece
waffle neck made of old growth Honduran mahogany, and a Brazilian
rosewood fretboard. The neck profile is medium, the vibrancy and
resonance are to die for-one of those very special woodsy tone
exceptional guitars that just vibrates everything in a very excellent
fashion. You players know what I mean. New Gibson's just don't have
that quality anymore as corporate logic replaces quality craftsmanship
and materials with proletariat style mass produced units in Nashville.
Non issue 69's fetch 12,000 and more. This one a player's grade due to
the inclusions, but superior in every way to any new Barbie & Ken
doll guitars inspired by Gibson's parent company, Toy's R US. :Oooooh,
get the robot guitar with the new purple dress...Oooooh! Those are for
